The World Manufacturing Forum (WMF) is an annual international conference which seeks to raise awareness and seek cooperative solutions to global manufacturing challenges through discovery, dialogue, and sharing of best practices between government, manufacturing, and innovation leaders. The 2018 edition will take place on 27 & 28 September in Cernobbio, Italy.

WMF is an open platform that aims to enhance and spread industrial culture worldwide, as a means to ensure economic equity and sustainable development.

  • The focus of the first day will be industrial policy strategy and international research programs that could be able to ensure manufacturing development. The meeting will open with the presentation of the World Manufacturing Report results, which will detail how the manufacturing drivers will respond to the megatrends leading to societal prosperity.
  • The focus of the second day will be to further develop the debates of the first day. The debate during the second day will analyse the issues raised on day one through an interaction with different social and geographical environments, weighing up their varied impacts. The goal is to enable policies to adapt to different realities, developing tailored-made plans that policy makers and decision makers in general can embrace.

Participants will include high-level represenatives of all sizes of industrial enterprises, research, academia and policy from across the globe.
