By advancing European electronic components and systems manufacturing to “Smart Sustainable and Integrated Production”, SemI40 will focus on two domains of the key enabling technologies, “smart production” and “cyber physical production system” made in Europe. Enhancing the capabilities of the European actors across the supply chain boosted by the leading semiconductor suppliers for power semiconductor devices will lead to a major step towards the fulfillment of the microelectronic strategy of the European Commission. “I4.0” or “the Industrial Internet” also in the electronics area requires holistic and very complex activities. In order to setup an efficient project, the SemI40 Consortium has to sharply focus the commitments given by this project proposal. The following main work areas covered by the annual work program 2015 have been identified:
