The fundamental importance of cybersecurity challenges in manufacturing environments were the subject of the first cybersecurity workshop co-organised by EFFRA.
The workshop explored the challenges and also where they are not yet fully recognised nor addressed.
Speakers and participants discussed needs and requirements for secure and resilient manufacturing environment, how current solutions address the current needs, current and future key enabling technologies and cybersecurity approaches. They also considered future requirements and pathways towards secure-by-design manufacturing environments, and better integration of cybersecurity in existing systems.
Discussions were buttressed with examples from European and international research and innovation projects which are currently addressing cybersecurity in manufacturing. The importance of the topic was reflected by the high level of participation from multiple manufacturing, cyber-security, and related sectors.
A report summarising the workshop discussions and key findings is available to download (see link below). Presentations from the workshop are also available to view online (follow the link below).
The workshop was co-organised by EFFRA, ECSO and the European Commission’s DG Connect.
