DIITET is the largest departments of the CNR in terms of number of researchers and technologists (1100), distributed infrastructures and the widespread presence of its Institutes (15) throughout the national territory (49 branches). It operates in the following fields: Computer Science, Systems and Communications Engineering, Industrial and Civil Engineering, Applied Mathematics, promoting multi-disciplinarity and fundamental research. It cooperates with all the major European organizations (Max Plank, Fraunhofer, CNRS, CSIC etc.) and Universities, as well as with defense organizations such as EDA and NATO.
