14 October – 17 November 2026

Europe is putting AI innovation in the spotlight this autumn with the launch of the European AI Innovation Month, bringing together policymakers, industry, researchers and the public sector to explore how artificial intelligence can be developed and applied across Europe’s economy.

Led by the European Commission in partnership with the Irish Presidency of the Council, the initiative will run from 14 October to 17 November 2026, combining flagship summits, online activities and partner events across Europe.

A month focused on turning AI potential into impact

For Europe’s manufacturing and research communities, the European AI Innovation Month provides an opportunity to look beyond AI development itself and focus on how AI can be translated into real industrial applications, greater competitiveness and sustainable growth.

The programme will connect discussions on policy and investment with examples of AI being deployed across sectors, including manufacturing, energy, mobility, healthcare, agriculture and the public sector.

Check three flagship events will anchor the month:

14 October – International AI Summit, Dublin
The month will open in Dublin with a high-level summit focused on harnessing AI to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness, bringing together political leaders, CEOs, investors, innovators and academics.

15 October – AI in Science Summit
Scientists, industry leaders, investors and policymakers will explore how AI is transforming scientific discovery and how Europe can build on its research strengths through responsible innovation and targeted investment.

17 November – Apply AI Summit, Brussels and online
The month will conclude in Brussels with the Apply AI Summit, bringing together policymakers, start-ups and industrial stakeholders to examine how AI is being applied across strategic sectors. Sessions will address areas including AI in manufacturing, robotics, energy, mobility, agrifood, climate and environment, healthcare and the public sector.

Why this matters for European manufacturing

AI is increasingly becoming an important enabler of Europe’s industrial transformation — from optimising production processes and supply chains to supporting robotics, predictive maintenance, product development and more data-driven decision-making.

The European AI Innovation Month comes at an important moment for Europe’s AI ecosystem. The EU is combining investment in AI capabilities and infrastructure with measures designed to accelerate industrial adoption while maintaining a strong focus on trustworthy and human-centric AI.
