The VDEh Betriebsforschungsinstitut (BFI) for applied cutting-edge research has been firmly at the side of the steel and process industry for more than 50 years with around 100 scientific employees. As a legally independent and non-profit institute, we translate innovative ideas into customised operations solutions. Our aim is to use our experience and technical expertise as a dynamic partner for applied research in a globally challenging environment to sustainably position companies in the steel and process industry and advance them technologically. With this in mind, we work with confidentiality, flexibility and efficiency, are internationally networked and use relevant national and European funding programmes to reduce the financial risks of our industrial research partners.
