The Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM), founded in 1969 in Ancona, offers excellent conditions for study and research in a stimulating and comfortable environment. UNIVPM has about 17000 students and includes five faculties: Engineering, Medecine and Surgery, Economics, Science and Agriculture, permanently employing about 610 academics and 600 technical/administration staff. The Faculties are situated on three main campuses in Ancona, but UNIVPM facilities are widespread over all regional territory, in the towns of Ascoli Piceno, Fabriano, Fermo, Macerata, Pesaro and San Benedetto del Tronto. The faculty of engineering consists of four main areas: Science of Architecture and Construction Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Information Engineering and Industrial Engineering. The Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematic Sciences devotes research, technology transfer and teaching in the area of traditional and additive manufacturing, mechanical systems, robotics, design, measurement techniques, metallurgy, energy management, production management and logistics, fluidodynamics, mathematics, etc. The Department owns modern teaching structure, equipped with sophisticated instrumentation and large laboratories.
