AltForm stands for Advanced Laser Technologies for Manufacturing. Until October 2025, AltForm operated as Prima Additive by Sodick, an Italianborn company dedicated to making metal additive manufacturing industrial, scalable, and competitive.
Our focus remains unchanged: enabling industries worldwide to move beyond prototyping and bring laser-based manufacturing technologies into true industrial production.
In 2025 AltForm evolved, expanding from Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (OED) to advanced laser processes like remote welding, coating and hardening.
AltForm designs and manufactures industrial additive systems, automation and robotic solutions for scalable production, and laser systems for welding and surface treatments. It provides comprehensive training, consulting, and application-driven services, guiding customers from R&D to fullscale production.
