Aligning with Factories of the Future priorities, the report identifies six areas of manufacturing that will shape its future development (cognitive, hyper-personalised, risk-resilient, circular, inclusive and rapidly-responsive).

Furthermore, the report recommends a series of actions to ensure the future of manufacturing, e.g. cultivating a positive image of manufacturing to attract workers, promotion of resource efficiency, education and skills development etc.
