The Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology (IWF) of TU Braunschweig incorporates two research fields: production technology and process automation and sustainable manufacturing and life-cycle engineering. This includes cutting processes, precision machining, machine tool development, automated handling and assembly, robot technology assembly cells, energy- and resource-efficiency in production, mineral oil free metalworking fluids, life-cycle analysis, technology management and the design of disassembly/recycling systems.
