Papenburg (DE) 20 & 21 June - Ship Building of the Future

The Center for Maritime Technologies (CMT) will host its first Maritime and Factories of the Future workshop - Ship Building of the Future – Innovative Materials and Production - which will take place on 20 & 21 June in Papenburg (Germany).

The Centre is particularly interested in technologies which are of interest to the shipbuilding sector.

Purpose of the workshop: The European maritime industry is a leading developer and producer of highly complex, one-off products. European-built ships and offshore structures are “XXL” products which have to perform challenging missions, thereby withstanding harsh and hazardous environments. To maintain and extend its market position, system integrators and producers constantly need to adopt and apply newest technology.

The two workshop will provide an opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences of technologies from manufacturing which are also of interest to ship builders and related organisations. Along with expert sessions, the workshop will also include a tour of ship building facilities.
