Stakeholder Consultation Positive on Public-Private Partnerships

BRUSSELS, 27 April. The European Commission’s stakeholder consultation on Horizon 2020, part of the ongoing mid-term assessment of the EU’s research programme, has reported positive feedback about Horizon 2020 public-private partnerships (e.g. Factories of the Future).

Recently published, the results of the consultation state that respondents see Horizon 2020 public-private partnerships as “promising tools to increase the introduction of R&D&I application in real markets”. Furthermore, respondents also found the partnerships to be very beneficial for new collaborative opportunities. Collaborative projects, including those deployed through Factories of the Future, were found to be one of the most relevant features of Horizon 2020 to industry and academia.

EFFRA Shortlisted for European Association Award

BRUSSELS, 8 December. EFFRA has been shortlisted for the European Association Award’s 2017 Best Association Conference award.

On 15 and 16 September, EFFRA organised the first European ‘Factories of the Future’ conference. This major event focused on the future of manufacturing in Europe and drew five hundred participants from across Europe. This was the first conference organised by EFFRA.

The award winner will be announced in Brussels on 24 February.

BEinCPPS Call Open - Equipment Assessment Experiments

Factories of the Future project BEinCPPS is currently running a call which targets the development of equipment assessment experiments by manufacturing SMEs.

The objective is to carry out innovative experiments in CPPS-based manufacturing facilities provided by the applicants themselves and based on HW/SW components of the BEinCPPS reference architecture. The open call aims at addressing different industrial sectors or business cases with respect to the 5 BEinCPPS Industrial Champions. The presence in the consortium of a Manufacturing SME providing the experimentation facilities is mandatory.
