CRF (Centro Ricerche Fiat S.C.p.A) is FIAT’s centre for innovation, applied research and development.
Recent research has been focused on sustainable mobility by adopting a systematic approach to investigate innovative solutions which address all aspects of sustainability in transport. This includes reducing emissions and noise pollution through innovations on the powertrain, fuel efficiency, optimising subsystems and ecological and recyclable materials.
CRF employs approximately 860 people. The centre’s work comes under six main headline areas: powertrain, vehicles, systems, materials, infomobility and manufacturing.
